Authors Chris Crutcher, Robie Harris, and Carolyn Mackler - who all know a thing or two about banned books - invite you to come to Chicago September 29 to participate in the Banned Books Week Read-Out! at the Pioneer Plaza on Michigan Avenue (between the Tribune Tower and the Chicago River). To celebrate Banned Books Week (Sept. 29-Oct. 6), Chicago celebrities will join authors from 1:00-4:00 p.m. to read passages from their favorite banned and challenged books. Admission is free.
